Earlier reports claimed that WWE is interested in signing Rok-C. The 20-year-old free agent previously worked the December WWE Performance Center tryouts, along with Monster Factory project Notorious Mimi and many others. She was able to perform well at the camp, according to Fightful Select which was enough to impress the WWE Officials.
After a significant backstage push to sign the young superstar, it seems like WWE has finally offered a contract to former ROH Women’s World Champion Rok-C. Wrestling Observer reports that the top free agent took part in another recent WWE tryout camp, her second one after which she was offered a contract.
WWE previously passed on to some of the talents because they were too young but that isn’t the case for Rok-C who has all the tools to make it big in the company.
Her real name is Carla Gonzalez who began training to be a wrestler in the ring at a tender of age 13. At the age of 16, she moved on to the Reality of Wrestling school and promotion owned by WWE Hall of Famer Booker T, where she is a one-time ROW Diamonds Division Champion. After getting trained by the likes of Booker, Daga, Gino Medina, Johnny Angel, and George Benavides, she made her pro debut in December 2018.
WWE NXT Level Up: News And Spoilers From Inaugural Episode
Rok-C dropped her title to Deonna Purrazzo
Rok-C became the inaugural ROH Women’s World Champion back in September of last year by defeating Miranda Alize in the finals of a tournament to crown the first-ever champion. After eight successful title defenses, she lost the belt to AAA Reina de Reinas Champion Deonna Purrazzo in a “Winner Takes All” match on Impact Wrestling last month. After losing her title, it became a no-brainer that she was eventually heading to WWE.
Rok-C also made her MLW debut at the recent Blood & Thunder tapings on January 21, going up against Miranda Gordy in a match that is yet to air on TV. There’s no word on if the emerging star will accept the contract offer from WWE, but she aspired to be a top wrestler, always. A new WWE Performance Center Class is scheduled to begin training, later this month. Hence, we expect to get confirmations about the same, sooner than later.
