It’s not very often that you’d find Virat Kohli and Roman Reigns, two of the modern-day juggernauts from their respective sporting leagues crossing over. However, on an interesting note, it appeared that possibly the number-one batter of the current era of cricket found a way to connect himself with the Head of the Table of WWE with his gestures following historic India vs. Pakistan match, last night.
WWE legend Paul Heyman took to social media by posting a tweet and thereby sending an address to Virat Kohli. In the tweet, he shared a screengrab of Kohli’s post-match celebration and compared it to The Roman Reigns and his faction The Bloodline’s hand gesture. The Wiseman pointed out that Kohli decided to acknowledge The Tribal Chief like everyone else.
“Happy #Diwali Everyone! #WWEkiDiwali It is with great honor that I, #SpecialCounsel and #Wiseman to the #Bloodline, accept the great @imVkohli’s celebration as — in front of the world — he decided to ACKNOWLEDGE OUR TRIBAL CHIEF @WWERomanReigns! @WWE @WWEIndia” Heyman wrote in the post.

Virat Kohli’s celebration had similarity to WWE’s Roman Reigns
Kohli’s blistering knock of 82* off 53 balls led Team India to victory as they started their journey in the T20 World Cup match against their arch-rivals Pakistan. The cricket world helmed King Kohli’s superb performance under a pressurized situation from a point when India was just 31 for 4 wickets.
However, it was the veteran batter alongside Hardik Pandya who produced the counterattack and eventually took India to the finish line, safely. On the occasion of Diwali, it was a special gift for the entire subcontinent and Kohli was obliging the same with that sign in the field. Little did he know, that he was apparently mimicking Roman Reigns’ “We The Ones” pose.

As seen in the tweet, Heyman wished WWE’s Indian fanbase Happy Diwali alongside many of the top WWE Superstars. Over on Twitter and on WWE’s YouTube channel, the likes of Drew McIntyre, Alexa Bliss, Bobby Lashley, and Rey Mysterio have sent greetings for this festive season. Indian WWE Superstars Sanga, Guru Raaj, and Veer Mahaan also joined them.
Additionally, WWE India posted a graphic picture of Roman Reigns and Paul Heyman in Indian attire as if they were dressed up for the occasion of Diwali. The two will return to TV on this Friday’s Smackdown as Roman gears up for his next title defense against Logan Paul at the WWE Crown Jewel premium live event.
