Both, Roman Reigns and Ronda Rousey are the potential contenders to be the headliners of Wrestlemania Backlash 2022. Before heading into the premium live event, the two featured in marquee matches for the latest bygone live event, last night. The cross-branded show was held under the banner of Saturday Night’s Main Event at the Cure Insurance Arena in Trenton, NJ.
Interestingly, in the main event of the match, Roman Reigns only put his Universal Championship on the line against Drew McIntyre and succeeded in retaining that gold. This is a similar lineup from the recently bygone house shows conducted by the WWE. In fact, the two top superstars also collided in the same lineup during the short UK live event tour, last week.

Apart from Roman Reigns, another top superstar Ronda Rousey was also seen in action who picked up the win in a tag team action with her current rival and Smackdown Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair being in the opponent team. United States Title from Raw was on the line on the show while other top superstars like Sasha Banks, Becky Lynch, and Seth Rollins were also in action.

Heading into Wrestlemania Backlash 2022, the news is that WWE is reportedly holding off on a singles encounter between Roman Reigns and Drew McIntyre until a proper bigger event appears, according to recent updates from Dave Meltzer on an edition of Wrestling Observer Radio.
The two men were initially speculated to square off in a title match after recent altercations on Smackdown. But they will instead feature in a six-man tag team match. Roman Reigns and Drew McIntyre were injected into the originally planned tag team title championship unification match between RK-Bro and The Usos to make it a non-title matchup.
