Roman Reigns is missing yet another premium live event following his absence at Hell in a Cell 2022. Besides this, his Undisputed WWE Universal Championship won’t likely be defended until the July 30 WWE SummerSlam 2022 premium live event.
As per the latest updates, Roman Reigns is no longer advertised for the July 2 Money in the Bank PLE which was originally scheduled to take place at the Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada. Now, the venue of the event has recently been changed from the 65,000-seater stadium to the 17,000-seater MGM Grand Garden. So the presence of the top champion isn’t likely required to sell out the show.

In more updates from Justin Barrasso of Sports Illustrated, Roman Reigns is no longer scheduled to compete in Money in the Bank PLE. Going by the current storyline, he was previously rumored to wrestle Riddle for the undisputed championship. But that match may have already been postponed.

Roman Reigns likely performing at Stadium shows
The report also noted that WWE changed plans for Roman Reigns once the MITB event was moved to a smaller venue from a bigger stadium. Now it appears that WWE’s Tribal Chief will instead perform in the two summer stadium shows – the July 30 SummerSlam in Nashville, Tennessee, and the September 3 Clash at the Castle in Cardiff, Wales. Dave Meltzer of The Wrestling Observer also confirmed the SI report that the top WWE Superstar is missing the early July event.
It was Meltzer who had previously reported in his Wrestling Observer Newsletter that Roman Reigns vs. Riddle was planned for Money in the Bank 2022 but that report came before the venue change occurred. Also, back then the dual champion was prominently featured in the promotional material for the Las Vegas event set from a gigantic stadium.
That same report also noted that Randy Orton and Drew McIntyre were in line to face Roman Reigns this summer, respectively at SummerSlam and Clash at the Castle. McIntyre has already issued a challenge to Reigns for the potential match for the Cardiff PLE while Orton was written off WWE TV following an attack by The Bloodline, last month on Smackdown.
Due to lack of credible challengers on WWE Raw/Smackdown, Roman Reigns has himself been pulled from WWE TV but he’s likely to be appearing in time for Summerslam 2022.
