An eventful episode of WWE Raw took place, this week with a lot of twists and turns on the card. Seth Rollins solidified the removal of Cody Rhodes from the storyline with a sledgehammer attack. As seen at Hell in a Cell, the Prodigal Son was already dealing with a torn pectoral muscle that will keep him out of action for possible until next year’s Wrestlemania season.
Since Cody Rhodes used to be the top-most babyface superstar on WWE Raw throughout the post-Wrestlemania season, a suitable replacement is needed. Apparently, WWE has already chosen that name and he is none other than WWE Hall of Famer Edge.

As seen on WWE Raw, the Rated R Superstar was kicked out of The Judgment Day faction and he will reportedly be undergoing an abrupt character change. PWInsider reports that Edge has officially been moved to the babyface side of the Raw roster.
It was noted that the shift for the on-screen character of Edge was needed in response to the injury suffered by Cody Rhodes, this past Friday. The legit injury was in full display at WWE Hell In A Cell and then on WWE Raw. WWE then announced on Monday that Rhodes would be undergoing a undergo surgery on Wednesday and his recovery is expected to take up to six months.
Top WWE Raw Superstar Suffers Orbital Floor Fracture Injury
Things abruptly changed on WWE Raw due to Cody Rhodes’ injury
Per Fightful’s reports, WWE originally had a different supernatural pitch for Judgment Day, and the Rated R Superstar was opposed to the idea. Finn Balor was always planned to turn into a heel character and join the faction led by Edge on WWE Raw. But never, the idea of kicking Edge out of the faction was played out until Rhodes’ injury was highlighted.
“Although that was firmly set on Monday, the pitch to have Balor as a member of Judgment Day came well before that. Fightful sources had indicated to us the week prior that Balor was set to turn heel and join the group days before Hell in a Cell. However, there was no mention at that point of Edge leaving the group.”
Turning Balor into a heel character gives a fresh dimension to him since it has become stale after years of misuse on WWE Raw and Smackdown. Now, with Edge turning into a babyface, a dream match between the two is genuinely expected, this summer.
