After signing a new deal in recent times, Roman Reigns has drastically trimmed down his appearances from WWE Live Events. He wasn’t seen in action for almost a month in these house shows that typically take place during weekends.
Back on June 17 Smackdown, Roman Reigns was seen in action where he defeated Riddle for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship. This was his first-time title defense on TV since Wrestlemania 38 Night Two. Then he returned to TV on this past week’s episode of Smackdown to cut a promo on his Summerslam 2022 opponent, Brock Lesnar.

The very next night, Roman Reigns competed in a WWE Live Event in Sacramento, California. In the main event of the show dubbed the Saturday Night’s Main Event, he defeated Drew McIntyre in a Winner Take All match to retain the WWE and Universal Championships. After the match, he also took the time to thank the crowd for their support.

In another big match from the WWE Live Event that took place on July 9th, Liv Morgan took on Ronda Rousey and Natalya in a triple threat for the SmackDown Women Championship that saw the reigning champion. Rousey got the biggest cheers of the night but in the end, Morgan retained her title by pinning Natalya.
Additionally, the Intercontinental Championship was on the line in this WWE Live Event where the champion Gunther retained. Also, Raquel Rodriguez defeated Shayna Baszler and Lacey Evans in a triple threat. The latter one came to the ring to cut a heel promo on the crowd before the match took place.
