Roman Reigns has been the top-most attraction on WWE television since his SummerSlam return in 2020. He’s been on a whole different level since that time as he has the Universal Championship around his waist. His status has been upped following WrestleMania 38 as he won the main event of the big event to become the new Undisputed WWE Universal Champion. That being said, he’s been in an unstoppable mode.
Being the marquee name, Roman Reigns is likely to be booked on both the weekly shows of the WWE. This is the best that WWE can do, right now as the company has only one top champion across the two brands. Recent reports also suggest the same mentioning how the Head of the Table might go on to become the headliner for both Raw and Smackdown.
Wrestlemania 38: WWE Cancelled Big Plans For Four-Horsewomen
According to reports from Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Roman Reigns is likely to appear on both Monday Night RAW and Friday Night Smackdown, as of now. After the Tribal Chief clinched dual titles at WrestleMania 38, the move was expected since Raw will lack a top Champion. Unless and until a new title is introduced, this should continue on WWE TV,
“Reigns is supposed to announce his next direction on the 4/8 Smackdown show from Milwaukee. In theory, this means, until they inevitably create a new major title, that Reigns will appear on both Raw and Smackdown for the time being. With Lesnar and Reigns wrecking almost everyone in the build-up, there are few viable challengers out there.”
WWE Has Plans For Roman Reigns To Transition Into A Hollywood Superstar
Roman Reigns is a dual champion in the WWE
It’ll be interesting to see how long Roman Reigns will have to appear on both the main roster shows and thereby pull off double duties. But rumors are high in there that a second title is likely to be introduced, soon enough. Reigns and Lesnar squared off in the main event of WrestleMania 38 Night Two with both the championships hanging in the balance in a title unification match. In the end, it was Reigns who came out on top.
In more news, a report by PWInsider claims that alongside Roman Reigns, at least 3 to 4 SmackDown Superstars are set to appear during next week’s episode of Monday Night RAW in Detroit, Michigan. The present belief is that those talents will be utilized for some dark matches in order to help with ticket sales. But a couple of names from the blue brand may end up appearing on Monday Night RAW if the creative team feels any such need.
For the time being, AJ Styles vs. Damian Priest, WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions Sasha Banks and Naomi vs. Rhea Ripley and Liv Morgan, and Rey Mysterio vs. Veer Mahaan are being advertised for Raw.
