As it is known to all, WWE Universal heavyweight champion Roman Reigns will defend his title against his former Shield brother Seth Rollins who is also a former four times WWE World Champion at the Royal Rumble pay per view event. This is definitely one of the most anticipated matches of the event as well.

It has been reported by various media sources that that’s all it was a scheduled to win the WWE Championship at the Day 1 pay per view event. But the plans were changed later and Brock Lesnar was added to the match to win the title. The 5th WWE Championship of Rollins could not come into reality.

Roman Reigns vs Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 38 has been booked for quite a long time. And as of it stood right now, this match is happening at the grandest stage of them all. But it is only happening if the brand split come to an end at WrestleMania 38.

But why did suddenly WWE brought Seth Rollins to Smackdown even after he was drafted to Monday Night RAW recently? He is not moving to SmackDown, he is still a RAW star? Then why is he having a feud with Roman Reigns in spite of being a RAW star?

Currently SmackDown is suffering from A terrible roster issue. Except Drew McIntyre, there is literally no one who can challenge Roman Reigns for the WWE Universal Heavyweight Championship in any pay per view event. Of course they can crown Ricochet or Sheamus and the no 1 Contender but it would be too predictable. And on the other hand Drew McIntyre is out with a neck injury for now.

It was reported by various media sources that Jeff Hardy was scheduled to challenge Roman Reigns for the title at Royal Rumble. But the Charismatic Enigma has been released by WWE recently. And this is something that has remained the biggest issue of WWE the covid-19 pandemic struck the world of professional reference.

So, WWE had no other option but to bring in someone from Monday Night RAW to crown a worthy no 1 contender. Most of the big names of WWE are in Monday Night RAW right now. So it had to be Seth Rollins. And it is going to be a very good match, that we can assure.

Definitely the hardcore fans do not want to see inter promotional matches in a stage except Wrestlemania. The wildcard system that was brought in in 2020 had been criticised badly for the same reason. But right now the WWE has no other option left. And it looks like the brand split is coming to an end, so it should not be an issue for long.
