Roman Reigns has cemented his spot as the Tribal Chief in the WWE following his win at Hell in a Cell. Once he dominated his way to the victory against cousin Jey Uso, Afa and Sika -The Wild Samoans came out to endorse the champion and thereby indirectly declared him as the head of the dynasty. It seems to be a perfect situation for The Rock to make the comeback and oppose the idea.
From the get-go of Roman Reigns’ heel-turn, it was assumed that WWE was trying to plant seeds for this dream match between the two generation’s superstars. WrestleMania 37 seemed a likely place where the showdown could take place. It was rumored that WWE booked Mania 37 in LA just because they wanted The Rock on the card.

This match was often teased as far back as when the initial announcement came WrestleMania’s home being the SoFi Stadium. Ringside News previously reported in July that the venue needed to be changed amid the coronavirus pandemic. Even if the show gets shifted to Tampa, Florida, there’d still be chances to see The Rock vs Roman Reigns.

Roman Reigns Vs The Rock: Latest Update On Dream WWE Showdown
The Wrestling Observer Newsletter noted that nothing is locked down between the Two Samoan Superstars. But things seem to be falling into place if The Rock can take out some time from his busy schedule, next year. After all, he’s quite eager to face his cousin, Roman Reigns in the first place.
There is no confirmed update on this mammoth showdown but it would make sense if WWE could arrange the program. If fans would be back on the shows and Johnson wants a memorable final encounter to wrap up his wrestling career, then it has to happen.
While Roman Reigns will be ready to face The Rock, anytime, the latter hasn’t been able to wrestle due to insurance reasons. Film producers invest a lot of money into his movies and an injury could postpone things, causing problems. We can only hope that the match would go down, at some point. Dwayne The Rock Johnson is in a position where he might come back to wrestle, one more time if he wants to show a hand to the producers and the studios.
Meanwhile, WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns appeared on ESPN First Take to reveal that it’d be great for him to compete in a match against The Great One,
“It would be amazing. To have someone on his level to put the spotlight on our current generation and what we do within our product in WWE, would be amazing. And just sharing the ring with him would be incredible.”
