Ronda Rousey is unarguably the biggest attraction that WWE has on their female roster. It was her arrival in the WWE that allowed the company to plan the only All-Women Premium Live Event in the form of Evolution followed by the first-ever WrestleMania main event featuring the female superstars.

It meant something for WWE to have the most famous female name from the world of combat sports to professional wrestling in their fold and they have utilized her to a big extent. Transitioning from the MMA world to a professional wrestler was never easy but Ronda Rousey is that hybrid athlete who adapted to the situation as quickly as possible to the WWE style of pro wrestling.

Ronda Rousey was the last of MMA’s Four Horsewomen to get signed with the WWE and it appears that it’s her bond with the other three women of the faction, Shayna Baszler, Jessamyn Duke, and Marina Shafir, that eventually led to her arrival to the pinnacle of sports entertainment.

Ronda Rousey went into detail about her arrival at WWE

While speaking with the most recent Wives of Wrestling podcast, the former Raw Women’s Champion went in-depth about how her bachelorette party led to her coming to the WWE.

“Shayna (Baszler) got me to WWE in general and then she started training at the PC. Marina (Shafir) moved there with [Roderick Strong]. I guess I kind of approached them. I had a bachelorette party and I wanted to hang out with the girls, but everyone was in Florida doing wrestling, so I was like, ‘why don’t I come and do wrestling with you guys and we can hang out,’” Ronda Rousey continued.

“I didn’t have Triple H’s number or anything, but (I talked with my agent) and was like, ‘What do you think WWE would think if I asked my bachelorette party to spend like a week training over there. It was me, Jessamyn (Duke), and Shayna doing an RV road trip from LA to Florida.’ That was my present to myself. I basically wanted to give myself a tryout. We had so much fun and it was a really good time.” (Quotes courtesy Fightful)

Being a combat sports icon, Ronda Rousey was obviously introduced to WWE programming as a top babyface superstar but things changed for her in due course. One of the major turning points of her WWE career came during the 2018 Survivor Series, where she locked horns with Charlotte Flair. During that dream first-ever bout, fans turned on Rousey and she was bitter about the experience. Ultimately, it led to an organic heel turn.

Ronda Rousey later admitted that it was difficult for her to deal when fans didn’t give her a positive reaction. During the conversation, The Baddest Woman on the Planet was asked about receiving negative feedback on her work. It seems like she has finally been able to distinguish between the real-life and kayfabe perspective of wrestling. At this point, she doesn’t really need to know what people think or opine of her work.
