Ronda Rousey is poised to become a champion, once again. After coming back to the WWE, she won the Royal Rumble 2022 women’s division match to secure a championship match at WrestleMania 38. But she failed to win the title despite making the champion tap out to her Armbar submission.
Now, Ronda Rousey will take on Charlotte Flair in an I Quit match at WWE WrestleMania Backlash premium live event. The two women have been engaged in a personal feud since the beginning of this year in an attempt to one-upping each other. Flair has the favor with her WrestleMania win while they have also made Drew Gulak a victim to prove their superiority. It’s safe to say that their feud may be coming to a blow-off at the coming PLE.
Ronda Rousey Got Signed With WWE Through Her Bachelorette Party
Ronda Rousey is a bonafide mainstream athlete who had ruled the world of MMA in her heyday. With a legitimate fighting background attached to her, WWE fans may find it hard to imagine her losing the match via submission or shouting I Quit to it. She is a pioneer athlete and this huge name should be protected. So for a second time in a row, she may not end up getting defeated.
The rivals will go into a head-to-head encounter at the May 8 PLE where The Baddest Woman on the Planet is planning on humiliating The Queen. She was scr**ed out by the referee bump at WrestleMania as she is willing to rewrite the history at the upcoming event.
Ronda Rousey losing at Wrestlemania Backlash doesn’t make sense
On the latest Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer cited reasons why Ronda Rousey should defeat Charlotte Flair for the SmackDown Women’s Championship. Meltzer, for all the right reasons just can’t believe that the UFC Hall of Famer losing an I Quit match by giving up the contest.
“The thing is, I think Ronda’s getting the title. Because it would be really bad for her to lose an I Quit match. So, I think she’s getting the title. But, Lacey [Evans] as a babyface, her natural opponent is Charlotte. You know, because Charlotte is the top heel woman on that SmackDown brand. But, things can happen. Maybe that’s for down the line.” (Transcription by Ringside News)
Charlotte Flair has been holding on to the championship belt for a long time and a change is needed in the title picture. Ronda Rousey’s title win may create the opportunities to begin some fresh feuds in the women’s division on the blue brand. FOX officials will also be happy to receive her as the face of the women’s division.
