UFC Legend Ronda Rousey teamed up with her fellow MMA legend Shayna Baszler this week on Monday Night RAW to capture the vacant WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship. The title had to be vacated as the previous champion Liv Morgan picked up an injury and was unable to compete. Her Tag Team partner Raquel Rodriguez had to vacate her title.

The Women’s Tag Team Championship had been terribly managed for the most time period of its existence. The title definitely provided more opportunities to the women of the WWE roster to get more frequent booking. But it was so badly booked, that in over four years, WWE could not even book a regular women’s Tag Team yet.

Ronda Rousey’s Demand For Change: Expresses Concerns Over The Lack Of Competition In WWE Women’s Tag Team Division

The deadly MMA duo Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler had been booked as a tag team since the end of last year and after their recent Tag Team title win on RAW, they could definitely reshape the lackluster Women’s Tag Team division. Ronda Rousey recently spoke to The New York Post where she complained about the lack of depth on the Women’s Tag Team division of WWE;

On the biggest challenge being the lack of competition: “Well, the lack of competition is really the problem. I mean, we want to be the most active champions out there. I want to be able to defend this title every week and even twice a week on both ‘SmackDown’ and ‘Raw.’

“But with how dismally shallow the women’s division is right now, there’s not enough women around here to keep us busy for a month. And so that’s the biggest challenge that we have is to get this company to actually care and invest into this tag division.” Said the current WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion Ronda Rousey.

On what sets her and Shayna Baszler apart from other tag teams: “No, I think that’s the one thing that really sets us apart from every single person, every single tag team in, in the history of this company is that we’ve, we came here already tested and we came here already closer than anyone’s ever been. We’ve literally fought together, bled together, cried together everything. And so there’s nothing that’s going to tear us apart, especially not a fantasy-land company like this.”

The fans wanted WWE to continue the Women’s Tag Team division but they are not happy with the way it had been managed. Even Triple H could not manage it properly since becoming in charge of the creative. We hope the situation improves for the Women’s Tag Team division soon.
