After a lot of speculations, WWE has recently confirmed that Royal Rumble 2023 will take place at San Antonio’s Alamodome on Saturday, January 28th. This will be the second PLE for next year following the WWE Day event. WWE is always preparing for their next big Premium Live Event to bring the entertaining aspect to the fans and this one would be no different given that it’s also a Big-Four in the calendar.
Royal Rumble 2023 will kick things off for Wrestlemania 39 and it’s guaranteed that there will be something special arranged for the show in late January. Besides, two major returns are speculated to take place to shake things up for the main roster. A report from WWFOldSchool has provided updates that former WWE Champion Randy Orton and former Intercontinental Champion Cody Rhodes are expected to make their returns on that night.

Cody had become one of the mainstays of the Monday Night RAW roster after returning to WWE at WrestleMania 38. He entered himself into a feud against Seth Rollins to cement his spot in the main event capacity only to get shelved due to an injury. Ever since he was sidelined, his return has been speculated to happen at the Royal Rumble 2023 edition.
While speaking during the San Diego Comic-Con, Cody himself addressed the possibility of him returning during the Royal Rumble 2023 match, next year with the following comments,
“My Royal Rumble stats are top 10, they’re phenomenal. So if I was to come back at that event, there is a chance I could actually get up in the top five and I’m all about that …. You never know! We’ll see.”

Randy Orton expected to be out of action until Royal Rumble 2023
As for Randy Orton, the veteran has been out of action with a back injury since RK-Bro lost the Raw Unified Tag Team Championships to the Usos in May. He was reportedly dealing with a back problem and consulted with a neurosurgeon about his injury. His problem reportedly became more severe over time and he may require surgery to get the problems fixed.
PWInsider is reporting that Orton has been given extended time off to heal the injury. Now the word is that both Orton and Cody are expected to be 100% ready to return on the Road to WrestleMania 39 and their journey should restart at Royal Rumble 2023.
