WrestleMania is the biggest event in professional wrestling and WrestleMania 40 has already been announced for April 6 and 7 of next year. The event will take place at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Much like every year, WrestleMania 40 is definitely going to be a huge event.
Rumours have already started to spread on what could be the main event of the event. There were rumours that Roman Reigns would face Cody Rhodes in a rematch from WrestleMania 39. There were even rumours that Roman Reigns would be given the World Heavyweight Championship too in this match which will make him the first WWE star to hold three World titles at the same time.

Recently, a rumour has spread all over the world of professional wrestling that Cody Rhodes will meet the current WWE Intercontinental Champion Gunther in the main event of WrestleMania 40. There is no confirmation if there will be any title that would be on the line in this rumoured match.
WRKD Wrestling wrote on this matter, “While it’s still early, discussions have taken place for #WWERaw’s main event for WrestleMania 40 to potentially be Cody Rhodes vs. Gunther. Both superstars have expressed interest in working with each other in the past and are seen as the top face and heel on the Raw roster.”

Even if there is no confirmation of this match but if it happens, it would definitely take place for the World Heavyweight Championship. Surely, Roman Reigns is not dropping his shares of the titles so there is no way this match could take place for either the WWE Championship or the Universal title.

Gunther had been one of the best booked wrestlers of WWE since last year. He created history when he survived in the men’s Royal Rumble match for more than one hour and eleven minutes breaking the previous record set by Rey Mysterio at the Royal Rumble match of 2006.
Cody Rhodes has also been booked as the top babyface of WWE since his return at WrestleMania 38. Gunther who is booked as the future main eventer of WWE would be an amazing opponent of Cody Rhodes. The match was even teased during the men’s Royal Rumble match earlier this year. Surely, it can be five star match if it actually takes place.
