WWE star Sami Zayn who is a former two times WWE Intercontinental Champion recently talked about Roman Reigns being the current face of WWE and he also talked about how many people it took to get Roman there.
Sami Zayn’s claim has a valid point of course. To make someone a face of a professional wrestling promotion it takes a lot of wrestler to get him through. Of course, Roman Reigns had to go through a lot of burials like the previous faces. To build a face of a professional wrestling promotion you need a lot of wrestlers to go down under.

Sami Zayn On Roman Reigns Being The Current Face Of WWE
For example, the previous faces like John Cena, Stone Cold Steve Austin, The Rock And The Immortal Hulk Hogan also had to go through a lot of burials. The biggest example of this has to be John Cena since a lot of talented professional wrestlers had been buried by the hands of John Cena. This is one of the biggest reasons John Cena was being hated by a lot of professional wrestling fans.
But Roman Reigns was not built in this way. There is not a huge number of wrestler that had to go down to push Roman Reigns. And it took quite a time to finally build the perfect push for the current WWE Universal champion. He is doing his job perfectly.

Former two time WWE Intercontinental Champion Sami Zayn recently featured as a guest on Renee Paquette’s Oral Sessions podcast where he talked about Roman Reigns being the current face of WWE and he also talked about how many people it took to get Roman there. He said;
“The individual effort versus the collective effort, right? So you take someone like Roman Reigns who’s a great example. Roman, no one’s gonna say he’s not good. He’s awesome, clearly.

“However, think of how many people it took to get him there and so that’s an amazing thing about wrestling that I think about all the time is the duality and the dynamic between the individual and the collective because the very individual mindset of like, ‘I gotta get over, I’m the best. I have to believe –’ a little bit of that is like WWE conditioning or whatever.
“‘You gotta think like you’re the man and you wanna be in the top spot!’ And it’s all through a lens of sort of dominance, which is a whole other — I won’t even touch all that.”
