WWE star Sasha Banks who is a former six times WWE Women’s champion recently expressed her happiness on main eventing WrestleMania 37. Banks featured on the main event of night 1 of WrestleMania 37 along with Bianca Belair where they fought for the WWE SmackDown Women’s Championship.

Women featuring on the main event of the biggest event of WWE and professional wrestling is definitely a huge deal. There was a time when WWE looked at women as only sex objects, and today they are featuring on the main event of the biggest event of professional wrestling.

But this was not the first time that women featured on the main event of the grandest stage of them all. The first WrestleMania that hold the historical record of featuring women on the main event of the show was WrestleMania 35 where WWE Raw Women’s Championship and WWE SmackDown women’s Championship both were on the line, Ronda Rousey, Charlotte Flair and Becky Lynch created history when they fought for all the titles in a triple threat match in the main event of WrestleMania 35.

But Sasha Banks and Bianca Belair actually created history because it was the first ever one on one match to feature on the main event of Wrestlemania. So this match was historic definitely, and it was a huge honour for both individuals.

“To main event WrestleMania, that was my biggest, biggest, biggest dream, so big that I didn’t even think it was possible. You would never think that as a woman in WWE or as a woman in general that you would be in the headline, main eventing, Wrestle Frickin Mania.

“To go out there and wrestle in front of a crowd when we hadn’t been in front of them for a year in a half. To get the reception we did and to deliver and kill it and to have people still talk about that match, it’s the best feeling in the world.

“To go home, leaving people happy and saying ‘that was the match of the night, that was the main event, male or female, period. That was just the greatest.’ That’s something we’re going to remember for the rest of our lives.”
