WWE is one of those sports where not really any off-season is offered to its performers and Sasha Banks is aware of the fact. Being one of the top superstars of the company, she’s booked on TV shows as well as on house shows on a regular basis which makes things rigorous at times. This could be the reason why she keeps on taking a break from her busy schedule to be at home and enjoy some time with family.
Often, Sasha Banks moves into hiatuses with no definite reasons cited towards those. One of these appeared to be at this year’s Summerslam when she was a no-show despite being booked to compete then Smackdown Women’s Champion Bianca Belair in a title match. Eventually, Becky Lynch replaced her on that night to emerge as the new Women’s Champion on the blue brand.

A month later, Sasha Banks did return during Extreme Rules, ruining the rematch between Lynch and Belair but no reason was given as to why she missed Summerslam. As the mystery continues, The Boss recently appeared in an interview with The New York Post and she was asked about that sudden absence from TV around the biggest event of the summer. She had the most interesting way to dodge that question,
“There’s no reason. I’m not telling you anything… (laughing) You’re not Oprah. You’re not the WWE Network, you’re not getting me the views. I’m not telling you my secrets. You can read my book. You can read my documentary when I want to speak about it. Thank you very much.”
Sasha Banks seemingly enjoys sporadic schedule in WWE
In recent years, Sasha Banks has missed a lot of time from WWE TV and she has always been tight-lipped about the situation. One of those most infamous hiatus took place after Wrestlemania 35 when she speculated to almost quit the WWE after dropping the women’s tag team titles.
Even this year, the multi-time champion has been off the TV, already. WWE has never made any official statement about his appearance while she didn’t speak about the reasons, either. In this interview with NY, she spoke of the benefit of her much-needed breaks while retaining her on-screen Boss gimmick, fully intact.
“To me it’s not breaks. I’m kind of gone or off TV for one or two weeks. People think it’s like a big break. But you know there’s a lot of talent on the roster. It can’t always be the Sasha Banks show. I can’t be on every Raw and SmackDown, even though I wish I can…” Sasha Banks continued.
“I’m a big star outside of the WWE, if you didn’t know. So I’m really booked and busy. If I can’t make the jet on time, I can’t make the jet on time. I can’t just have the plane waiting for me on their hands and feet. I’m just really busy. To me it’s nothing. I’m just showing up to work when I’m booked for work.”
Sasha Banks will continue to be a top superstar on Smackdown alongside Charlotte Flair as both of these stars were picked by the blue brand during the draft 2021. Meanwhile, she might just continue to take breaks from WWE programming as it keeps her in a recharging state, all the time.
