Former four times WWE World Champion Seth Rollins who is going to face Roman Reigns for the WWE Universal Heavyweight Championship at Royal Rumble this Saturday said that his match at Royal Rumble is going to be WrestleMania main event standard.
A number of weeks ago, at the end of the episode of Friday Night Smackdown, Seth Rollins confronted WWE Universal Heavyweight champion Roman Reigns which marked the beginning of this feud that is heading to Royal Rumble.
Seth Rollins Believes His Match Against Roman Reigns Is Worthy Of Being WrestleMania Main Event
A match between Rollins and Roman Reigns had been made official the very next week on Monday Night RAW for Royal Rumble pay per view event which was scheduled for the WWE Universal Heavyweight Championship. This is not the first time these two athletes are going one on one, but this is quite exciting to see them wrestling.
This has already been confirmed so many times that this match is going to be the main event of Royal Rumble instead of either of the Royal Rumble matches. This is definitely a big match and fans would love to see it but is it really bigger than a Royal Rumble match? There is a huge doubt about it.
There is a fun fact about the previous matches between this duo. Roman Reigns could never pin Rollins in a one on one match before. But they never faced each other after Roman Reigns became the super power and turned heel. It is being believed that Reigns would retain the Championship at Royal Rumble
But why did WWE bring someone from Monday night RAW for Roman Reigns to defend his WWE Universal Heavyweight Championship? The answer seems quite simple, there is no one left against whom he could defend his title against Royal Rumble and who could be a worthy opponent. The roster of Smackdown has become extremely weak since WWE went on to their releasing spree.
Seth Rollins who is going to face Roman Reigns for the WWE Universal Heavyweight Championship at Royal Rumble this Saturday recently spoke to TalkSport where he said that his match at Royal Rumble is going to be WrestleMania main event calibre. He said;
“This is a WrestleMania main event calibre match, no question. I definitely think we’re going to kick WrestleMania season off the right way. It’s always going to be me and Roman. It’s always going to come down to me and Roman.
“In many ways, we are the biggest two stars in WWE in this generation and I think fans have been clamouring for this match – especially where both of us are at in our career paths – and we didn’t think we were going to get it. But now, here we are and I’m looking forward to the electricity of the Rumble.
“Stars aligned or misaligned, I don’t know! Depends how you look at it. I was on SmackDown on the rise for a long time and Roman was beating tons of guys over there. Month after month he was clearing the way over there and the only guy he wasn’t getting touched by was me.”
