WWE audience on Monday Night Raw was up for a shocker as Seth Rollins decided to turn heel following the main event of last night.
It was the post-Survivor Series episode of the flagship show where The Architect turned on his Team Partner from the PPV.
This solidified the heel-turn of the former Universal Champion which seemed evident after the crowd was continuously booing him on Raw for the past few weeks. Thus, ‘Monday Night Rollins’ was vanquished for good.
Rey Mysterio becomes new champion on Raw
Just hours after making their victorious in-ring return, the Authors of Pain made their presence felt on the main event of WWE Raw that led to the heel-turn of Seth Rollins.
Originally, he was competing against Kevin Owens in a solid match that ended in a disqualification, due to the AOP’s interruption, (courtesy WWE.com)
“Their arrival was a lucky one for The Beastslayer, who had just suffered a Stunner from his opponent and was likely about to be pinned before the former Raw and NXT Tag Team Champions arrived.
Akam & Rezar sized up both men, but Owens staggered to his feet and threw the first punch, leading the team to attack him and hand him the disqualification win.
When it came time to turn to Rollins, however, AOP demurred and made their exit.”
Eventually, Seth Rollins reached an ‘exclamation point’ hearing thunderous boos from the crowd. So he decided to drive Kevin Owens face-first into the mat on two occasions with his pendant Stomp move.
The Chicago crowd showered him with thunderous boos to make the moment even more significant.
Plus, the fact that AOP decided to leave Seth Rollins without a scar indicates that a future faction featuring all three of them is imminent.
For now, Seth Rollins will not be in the spot of the prime babyface figure on WWE Raw after this villainous turn. He was supposed to be the franchise figure on the show after Roman Reigns departed for Friday Night SmackDown.
But the booing reaction increased for him in the bygone weeks leading to the change of plan. For now, we expect Kevin Owens will replace him in the spot. Also, the happenings from WWE Raw will lead to a matchup at TLC.
