Shane McMahon was last seen in the WWE during the 2022 Men’s Royal Rumble match, earlier this year on the same night that he made his return to television. He was supposed to heavily feature in the WWE programming, moving forward. Per the creative plans, he was planned to wrestle at the Elimination Chamber in Saudi Arabia and then at WrestleMania 38 in Dallas, Texas. But those plans have to be scrapped due to his unexpected backstage behavior.

Outlets like Ringside News reported after the Rumble event that Shane McMahon was a nightmare as a producer for the Men’s Royal Rumble match 2022 edition. He wanted to hire another booker in Jamie Noble and then also wanted the match to be around himself. The backstage talk was that he was upset because “he wasn’t being allowed to do what he wanted” which thus got things “greatly preoccupied” around his own role in the 30-man annual match.

More reports claimed that Shane McMahon made changes to Bad Bunny’s entry number in the match on multiple occasions, causing WWE Officials to get angered. Bunny is a major celebrity star to be around the WWE and obviously, the company didn’t want any such negativity around him. According to Fightful Select, Vince McMahon made the following promise backstage at the event,

“Shane would never get another pop in WWE as long as I’m around.”

Shane McMahon isn’t on good terms with the current WWE Chairman & CEO

According to the latest reports from PWTorch, the current WWE Chairman & CEO Stephanie McMahon has her own creative ideas that she’d look to book around the company now that she’s in charge. But since Vince McMahon remains the majority stockholder in the company and hence the WWE Officials still have to please him.

It was added in the report that Stephanie and Shane McMahon are not on good terms and hence the latter isn’t expected to return to the company, anytime soon. Here’s what the source reported,

“That rivalry has been there. The divide between those two, I’m told, is still there. And there is no reconciliation or power sibling team expected.

Succession. It’s like, you know, the siblings hang out, they yell, they battle and they double cross each other, but they hang out. And they talk. And the impression I’m getting is that’s not happening with Shane and Stephanie.”

Although Shane McMahon is Vince McMahon’s son, he isn’t an employee of the WWE for a long time. Reports also revealed that he was supposed to be involved in the XFL but then COVID hit and the league went into bankruptcy. He was already treated as a talent like any other superstar. But his actions didn’t leave any further choice but to take action against him. Now that Vince is fully retired from WWE, chances are less that the younger McMahon will ever return to WWE, anytime soon.
