Professional wrestling legend and WWE Hall of Famer Shawn Michaels who is a former four times WWE World Champion recently talked about the released NXT stars. He said that he missed those stars from the NXT who are no longer with the promotion.

2021 is being considered as the worst year in WWE history. There are plenty of reasons behind possessing such a belief. One of the main reasons behind it is the amount of released stars this year. WWE never released so many stars in one single year before. On the other hand, the Rival promotion of WWE which is AEW, they kept on signing new stars.

Shawn Michaels Says He Misses Released NXT Stars

Almost all the released stars of WWE had been signed by AEW. WWE was forced to release the stars due to their budget cut policy. Some of the release stars where even former WWE World Champions and some of the upcoming new stars.

One of the biggest losses because of this new budget card policy that any brand of WWE had to face must have been NXT. They lost some of the biggest talents they created in the recent years including the likes of Adam Cole, Bobby Fish, Kyle O’Reilly, Johnny Gargano and many other big names.

It had been really disheartening for the WWE fans to see the whole Undisputed Era getting release from the WWE and forming the stable once again at AEW. The only member of the Undisputed Era is still in WWE is Roderick Strong.

WWE has changed their policy about the NXT completely. Previously WWE was focusing on bringing stars from the independent wrestling on the NXT and making them ready for main roster. Now WWE is changing their policy and they are focusing more on their utility talents.

Most of the stars that they brought from the independent circuit are now gone. Some of them are still working on the NXT but it is just a matter of time as it stood. WWE is going back to their old school policy, we are trying to beat AEW in the same way they beat WCW during the famous Monday Night Wars.

Shawn Michaels who is a former four times WWE World Champion recently spoke to Denise Salcedo from Instinct Culture where he talked about the released NXT stars. He said that he missed those stars from the NXT who are no longer with the promotion. He said;

“They are the reason that I came back, and fell back in love with Sports Entertainment, with this line of work. As you’ve heard and everyone has numerous times, in NXT at the Performance Center, is where it’s still pure, it’s still all the reasons we get into it before it becomes business, and money and negotiations and things of that nature. To fast forward your question, I miss them.

“We still keep in contact, but yeah it is bittersweet, those young men were a big part of my life, they were a lot of the reason that I sort of got back into this line of work. I was happily retired. When it came to Johnny, Tommaso, Adam, those guys, even way back, the Revival Boys, Shawn Spears who was Tye Dellinger at the time, all those young men sitting in a room with them; their passion, their excitement, their desire to be better was just hard not to love.”
