Simon Gotch Released From WWE 1

Former NXT Tag Team champion Simon Gotch has been released from WWE yesterday. The news of release broke on WWE.com. The official website of WWE reported;

‘WWE has come to terms on a mutually agreed upon release with Simon Gotch as of today, April 5, 2017. WWE wishes Gotch the best in all his future endeavours.’

It’s an irony that Gotch joined the main event just one year ago. After having a three-year-long NXT career Gotch joined the main roster along with his tag team partner Aiden English on April 7, 2016, and he got released just after a year.

He has been a member of the Smackdown Live roster since the beginning of the brand split, however, he mostly played a jobber’s role.

Gotch made a tweet after his release regarding further contact on indies and interviews. He tweeted;

After his release, a false rumor was surrounding regarding the reason of his release where a fan tagged him in a tweet and claimed that Gotch was cut loose for being difficult to work with and getting into a fight with Vaudevillains partner Aiden English at WrestleMania 33.

Gotch immediately confirmed on twitter that this news is false. He tweeted;

Gotch also confirmed that he will tell everything about this on why he got released and other stuffs in an interview he is lining up for;

As Gotch is released, his tag team partner Aiden English is still on the roster. So what is next for Aiden English? Will he be seen competing in singles actions or getting a new tag team partner? Or will he be shown the same league as Gotch? Only time can answer these questions.
