This week’s SmackDown was a pretty good show with some excellent segments, a big return, but there were definitely some downfalls. The best thing about the show was the Bloodline segment which was the biggest attraction of the night. For more than half of the show, they only concentrated on the Bloodline segment.
This might have been a good promotion for the Bloodline storyline but it was not good for the rest of the roster. They booked The Bloodline segment in two parts, and it continued for around 40 minutes, which is almost half of the show. The Bloodline is definitely the best storyline in WWE at this moment but they should focus on other storylines as well.
SmackDown 07.07.2023 – The Good, The Bad, And Unforgettable: Ups & Downs From The Show
The small women’s segment was really good. It was not even booked for five minutes but in such a short time it was such a hilarious affair. At first, we saw the three way feud for the Women’s Championship, Iyo Sky also attempted to cash in her Money in the Bank contract, but she failed. Bayley and Iyo are still working as a team. The segment was excellent and it was extremely fun.
But that was all the good things about the night. We had to cut everything else from the show just to focus on the Bloodline segment. Would you believe that there was no LA Knight on tonight’s show? In spite of being one of the most over wrestlers in WWE, he was not booked at all.
Edge Is back On Smackdown Last Night
We were expecting him to challenge for the United States Championship following the recent incident from the WWE house show. Speaking of the United States Championship, Sheamus challenge for it tonight and ultimately it was just another similar booking from their last encounter. We hope this feud and share and Austin Theory gets someone new, maybe LA Knight.
Edge made his return on SmackDown tonight and faced Grayson Waller. This was also the first match of the Australian professional wrestler on the main roster. This was a great boost for Waller as he got to face someone like Edge on his main roster debut match. We would love to see Edge working on a regular basis.
There was another one on one match where AJ Styles defeated Karrion Kross. The match had to be cut short and that was definitely because of the Bloodline storyline. The Bloodline might have been the best story line in WWE but that does not mean that this is the only thing WWE fans want to see. They have to focus on other things too.
A lot of wrestlers remained unbooked from tonight’s show. Much like LA Knight, there was no Tag Team Championship segment tonight. There was no LWO either. But the segments that got booked for the show were all good. Overall it was a good show, it is definitely better than what Monday Night RAW is doing, especially on the women’s division, in which RAW is doing absolutely awful.
