This week’s SmackDown started as Adam Pearce was seen standing inside the ring which the stage had been decorated for a contract signing. It was the contract signing between Charlotte Flair and Ronda Rousey for their I Quit match at WrestleMania Backlash.

Highlights of their whole feud was shown while Charlotte was making her entrance. When Charlotte and Ronda were about to sign their contract, they saw the contract was not there. Drew Gulak came down running towards the Ring with the contract in his hand.

Charlotte cut a short promo before signing the contract. When Ronda was about to sign it, Ronda attacked her with a Kendo Stick. Ronda fought back and took the Kenda Stick away to beat Charlotte down. Drew Gulak tried to stop Ronda and got beaten down himself and Ronda signed the contract.

Match 1 – Xavier Woods defeated Butch

This was a rematch from their previous encounter and this match was booked for 7 minutes. Butch dominated the most part of the match, but Xavier pin him with a role up. Butch losing every week is not a good thing. If there is a story behind it we can accept that.

Match 2 – Gunther defeated Teddy Goodz

Gunther kept on receiving his slow strong build. Once again he squashed a jobber this week. We hope this continues for the next couple of months before he gets involved in any serious feud. Gunther won the match with the Powerbomb.

Match 3 – Riddle defeated Jey Uso

This match was booked for nearly 10 minutes and it was a very good and competitive match. It was one of the better matches of the night. Riddle won on this occasion, he pinned Jey Uso with a roll up.

Next up was a segment for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship. Sasha Banks and Naomi were being interviewed inside the ring as they were interrupted by Natalya and Shayna Baszler, and the feud between these two teams are on. Finally it is good to see WWE is putting some effort behind this championship. One more thing we must say about this segment, Naomi was a little cringe throughout the segment.

Match 4 – Madcap Moss defeated Angel

It was a short two minute long match and it was an easy victory for Madcap Moss. He pinned Angel with the Punchline Finishing Maneuver. After the match, Happy Corbin interrupted and beat down Moss. He also took away the Andre the Giant memorial trophy.

Match 5 – Lumberjack Match – Drew McIntyre vs. Sami Zayn went to a no contest

It was a good and entertaining main event. Sami kept on trying to escape throughout the match, but the Lumberjacks kept on stopping him. At the end, when the Lumberjacks started fighting themselves, Sami finally escaped.

Adam Pearce came out and announced a Steel Cage match between the duo for next week. Jinder Mahal and Shanky attacked Drew but Drew fought back and beat them out. Drew McIntyre stood tall inside the ring as this week’s SmackDown went of air.

This week’s Smackdown was a better show than last week. Finally it seemed like something is happening. Drew Gulak is doing his role quite good, hopefully WWE will bring more direction to this new job of Drew Gulak. They are building a new feud for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship is also very good thing. About the weaker parts, there is still no storyline for the World title and even if they tried to do a lot of things this week, overall it was a little boring. We give it 2 stars out of 5.
