This week on Smackdown, WWE Women’s Champion Asuka would defend her title against the former champion against the former fourteen times WWE Women’s Champion “The Queen” Charlotte Flair. The match was booked on the same night of Charlotte returning to Smackdown.
Bianca Belair is the previous WWE Women’s Champion whom the Empress of Tomorrow defeated to capture the title. Bianca was in the queue for a rematch but Charlotte Flair returned and demanded a Women’s title shot. She was given the title shot and the match got official for this week’s Smackdown.
Smackdown – Asuka vs. Charlotte Flair: Breaking Down The Potential Explosive Encounter
Bianca Belair was pretty unhappy with the decision for Charlotte getting the title opportunity before her. But Adam Pearce was determined to give Charlotte the first opportunity and he even barred Bianca from the ringside for this week’s big match so that she could not mess things up.
So what should we expect from this match? There are two possibilities we can see at this moment. One thing we can assume that the 41 year old Japanese professional wrestler was given the Women’s title so that she can drop it to Charlotte Flair. So we are pretty sure that Asuka is not going to beat Charlotte this week on Smackdown, at least not clean.
Asuka Would Defend Her Title Against Charlotte Flair This Saturday
The first and the dullest possibility would be Charlotte winning the Women’s Championship. There is a big chance of it and this would be the laziest booking idea possible. Of course, Charlotte will win the title to feud with Bianca for the title, but why make things look so easy and predictable?
The best idea would be Bianca Belair interfering in this match and costing Charlotte her opportunity to win the title, and then these three women go on to have a triple threat match for the title at Summerslam where Charlotte wins by pining Asuka. Next, she continues her feud with Bianca having Bianca turn heel in the progress.
The idea above we mentioned above would be the best possible way to continue this storyline, and there is definitely a possibility of it. But the way WWE has booked the women’s division recently, we doubt they would have such exciting booking for this feud. This storyline still has great potential and we hope they do not mess things up.
