Without any doubt the Monday night RAW is going through its worst period ever. But SmackDown is not doing any better. In fact fans are complaining that SmackDown is even worse than raw right now.
What happened to the blue brand of WWE suddenly? For the most of the time of its existence, and mostly after the first brand split, the blue brand has always been better than the red brand. This must be the first time when SmackDown is suffering so much.
Smackdown Even Worse Than Raw
Fans often ask a question, what happened to WWE suddenly? Why it suddenly became such a terrible show? Of course covid-19 is a huge reason behind it. Because of this terrible pandemic, just like every other company, WWE faced massive losses.
But losses cannot stop a promotion from producing good shows. You can face losses surely, there is no guarantee of time. But nothing stops you from from producing a good show. Writing better storylines, booking better matches, producing better ideas does not require a lot of money.
If WWE is suffering from something right now, that is Vince McMahon himself. Rumours have it that Vince himself rejected thirty two storylines last year proposed by the creative team. If the company is going through this terrible time, the owner has to take all the responsibilities.
But why SmackDown is going through this time? There are a lot of reason behind it. Latest discuss about all of them in short.
Firstly, countless rematches are one of the biggest reasons why SmackDown is getting boring and monotonous day by day. For an example we have seen Shinsuke Nakamura vs King corbin 4 times in 5 weeks, and there were no stipulations either which could make things a little interesting.
Next up is a joke of a women’s division. Bianca Belair is their face right now and she is being built as completely unstoppable. No one in the universe can beat her. This is the biggest reason why it feels bad to see her. Plus the division is totally fragile. There are only five active wrestlers right now, among them Sasha Banks is also missing.
There are big names like Kevin Owens, Sami Zayn, Shinsuke Nakamura etc. Still they remain mostly un booked and when they get booked it is terrible.
One May argue that since when Raw became good in these fields? Definitely raw is bad in these criterias too. But SmackDown is even worse in all of these criterias than Raw right now. Raw is at least trying to do something with all of their wrestlers, unlike SmackDown where they cannot see anything beyond Bianca Belair and Roman Reigns. These things can be changed, but it requires time. We hope it would not be very late.
