Carmella has recently vented out frustrations for sitting at home throughout the summer of last year and earlier this year rather than making regular appearances on WWE TV. Her pledge could’ve been heard by the WWE officials as she could now expect to be involved in a new program on SmackDown.

According to the reports of Wrestling Observer, Mia Yim (former RETRIBUTION member Reckoning) is all set to make her SmackDown debut on this week’s go-home episode of SmackDown for WrestleMania Backlash. Current plans suggest that she might begin a feud with Carmella upon her first TV appearance in recent months. Mia was previously on RAW, but she’s internally changed brands after the RETRIBUTION faction broke up.

Spoiler On Carmella Beginning A New Program On This Week's WWE Smackdown 1

According to Fightful Select, Mia was originally scheduled to debut on last week’s Throwback Edition of SmackDown and begin the reporter program with Carmella. But due to time constraints, the segment was postponed. So the assumption is that could take place from the ThunderDome, this Friday Night as we expect the commencement of a fresh rivalry.

Carmella was back on TV, only last week

Meanwhile, Carmella herself returned to in-ring action on last week’s show where she defeated Ruby Riott. This was the first time we saw her on TV since WrestleMania 37 Night One Gauntlet Eliminator Match to determine a number-one contender’s team for the Women’s Tag Team Championships. While Mella is a heel, there’s no update on the characteristics of Mia. There’s no update on whether she will use her RETRIBUTION gimmick on the blue brand.

Spoiler On Carmella Beginning A New Program On This Week's WWE Smackdown 2

In a current sit-down with Brie and Nikki Bella on The Bellas Podcast, Carmella talked about her current run with the company. As mentioned above, she hasn’t been seen on TV much since her feud with Sasha Banks was wrapped up over the SmackDown Women’s Championship. The Untouchable One wasn’t quite sure about why the creative team opted to keep her off TV for a long time,

“There was no rhyme or reason for why I was at home, I was just told ‘we’re going to wait to bring you back and do a different story.’ And then I kind of revamped my character a little bit, which is cool. It’s nice to get a new coat of paint. Then I came back, had this awesome story with Sasha, felt like I totally delivered.”
