Ronda Rousey: WWE Star Claims Herself To Be Former Champion’s Replacement

Ronda Rousey used to be a major attraction for the WWE for the entire 2018. It was a privilege for the company to receive a mainstream star like her on a full-time basis. She had a great run in WWE during her debut cum only year spent here. With the RAW Women’s Championship around her waist, she literally ran the division before leaving.

It should be noted that Ronda Rousey was involved in a high-profile feud with Becky Lynch that eventually ended up producing the only all-female WrestleMania main event in history. While speaking on the Broken Skull Sessions on the WWE Network, Stone Cold Steve Austin asked her latest Sasha Banks about the WWE run of the former UFC star.

Ronda Rousey Reportedly Not Working WWE Wrestlemania 37

The Legit Boss echoed the same feeling as that of Charlotte Flair when it came down to the question of her contribution to women’s wrestling in WWE. Austin clarified his question and asked if Ronda Rousey was a special attraction on the same level as Mike Tyson was. Banks, being The Boss she is, claimed that she has already played a special role already while replacing her,

“You can bring in Ronda Rousey, but you should be paying me for doing what she’s doing. You have the talent here, I’ve put in the work. But, Ronda Rousey is a household legend and name to her own. If it wasn’t for Ronda Rousey, who knows if the women’s division here would be women’s wrestling. She put in the work. She loved it. She came into the locker room very humbled and wanting to know everything that she could to be the best.”

Ronda Rousey is a long absent from WWE TV

Ronda Rousey hasn’t been seen on WWE programming since WrestleMania 35 main event where she lost her RAW Women’s Championship to Becky Lynch in a Triple-Threat match also featuring Charlotte Flair. Following her loss, The Baddest Woman on the Planet took time off from WWE to start a family. But to date, no such news regarding her pregnancy was heard.

As previously reported by sources, Ronda Rousey was spotted training in the ring with WWE Hall Of Famer “Rowdy” Roddy Piper’s daughter, Teal Piper, during the 2020 fall. The Wrestling Observer noted that this was probably the beginning of a return. Those training sessions could only mean that she’d be stepping into a WWE ring once again, but at this point, it’s unknown when that would happen.
