John Cena to depart WWE right after Summerslam 2021
The Wrestling Observer is reporting that John Cena is locked in for the main event of Summerslam 2021 against Roman Reigns. So he will be performing in the PPV before making a right-away exit from TV, thereafter,
“No word on when he shows up for television, but Cena is free of responsibilities for acting work at this point and until after SummerSlam. Cena vs. Reigns is locked in as the main event for the show. However, Cena is in a movie called ‘Argylle’, a spy thriller which will be shooting in Europe in August. It’s possible he could start after or end prior to the date, or even get a few days off.”
As you can see, the source mentioned that the Cenation Leader will be busy shooting for Argylle and hence he won’t stick around on WWE programming once Summerslam 2021 is over. There’s no update on how many appearances he will be making, leading to the title match against Reigns. As for the “Argylle” movie, at least three films are in the pipeline for this debut franchise. There is no word on whether Cena has been roped in for all the future films in the series.
