WWE Hall of Famer Edge made speculations true about his impending return on the night of Summerslam 2022. He showed up to help out The Mysterios in defeating The Judgement Day members Finn Balor and Damian Priest in a No Disqualification affair.
Taking advantage of the No DQ stipulation at Summerslam 2022, Rhea Ripley made her presence known in the match. Ripley provided distractions before Balor finally asked for a Chair to attack Rey Mysterio. He apparently intended to hit Rey with a Con-Chair-To move much like how they’ve hurt Edge in the recent past.

This is when the lights went out and out came Edge to make his comeback at Summerslam 2022 with a new look and new theme music. Since it was a No-DQ affair, the 11-time world champion legally sought his redemption in between the match by spearing both Damian and Balor. The Mysterios capitalized on this and then picked up the win after hitting with a double-619 on Balor. Edge, Rey, and Dominik stood tall in the middle of the ring to end the segment.

Edge teased his return via vignettes before Summerslam 2022
Edge has been out of action since the June 6 episode of Monday Night Raw. On that night, Damian Priest, Finn Balor, and Rhea Ripley attacked him and kicked him out of The Judgment Day faction that he founded in the first place.
Leading up to Summerslam 2022, vignettes of Edge’s return had been airing on Raw episodes, starting with WWE Money In The Bank. The vignettes never fully clarified that it was about Edge but those did mention his rivalries with several WWE Superstars including John Cena, Randy Orton, Mick Foley, and the late Eddie Guerrero.
Based on these vignettes, The Legendary Superstar was reportedly set to make his WWE return during this past Monday’s episode of Raw from Madison Square Garden, but plans were changed with Vince McMahon’s retirement and Triple H taking things over of the creative team.
His wife, WWE Hall of Famer Beth Phoenix, was also said to be reportedly scheduled to be in attendance at the Madison Square Garden go-home show for Summerslam 2022 but that was canceled, too. Then according to PWInsider, Edge was spotted backstage in Nashville at the Nissan Stadium for last night’s PLE and he did make an on-screen appearance.
