Tay Conti (Taynara Conti of WWE) was touted to be the first Brazilian professional wrestling superstar to be signed from Brazil. Despite having a judo background who also had his presence felt in mainstream sports, WWE failed to utilize the name and elevate her to the top level. Now, she is enjoying her days in All Elite Wrestling promotion as a regular star performer on Dynamite.
AEW’s Tay Conti recently appeared on Elite POV where she talked about her first title match opportunity at the recently bygone Full Gear PPV. She challenged Britt Baker for the AEW Women’s World Championship on the show but came up short. She admitted that working with the top female superstar was very special.
“Working with Britt was something really special, too. She’s the top right now of the division, she’s the face of the division, for sure. Working with her was really, really special. Honestly, I was glad to be doing this with her. But I am taking that title soon.”

Back at AEW Full Gear 2021, Tay Conti had one of the best entrances of the night. She walked out to the ring with the Brazilian flag clad around herself. However, she admitted that the idea of representing her country, came together quite late as she hadn’t been thinking about it. Then she ordered the flag from the shopping site Amazon.
“I didn’t think about it, nobody told me anything about it. ‘What should I do?’ In a Judo or MMA big fight, I was trying to put myself in that position. I went to Tony, ‘hey, do you have five minutes?’ he’s always available to talk, it’s Tony. I told him the idea and I was like, ‘I don’t know if we can do it’ because it was super last minute, two or three days before the pay-per-view. He was like, ‘Of course we can do it. We’ll figure it out. It’s easy,’” Tay Conti disclosed.
“I ordered my flag off Amazon. Amazon saved my life.”

Tay Conti recently announced separation from husband
Tay Conti recently made a huge confession around her personal life. She has been married at an early age while being in Brazil but that marriage has been called off. The AEW star was asked on Instagram Stories, why she doesn’t post photos of her husband anymore and if she’s still married.
“Nope, we have been separated for a long time [kiss face emoji],” Tay Conti responded. She married Jorge Conti, a Brazilian Judo fighter, in 2017 and the marriage has seemingly ended either this year or in 2020.
