Former WWE star and a former Impact Knockouts champion Taya Valkyrie who went by the name of Franky Monet in WWE recently talked about the rebranding of NXT. She said that it was one of the most confusing things of her entire life.

The NXT has been working as a development territory as well as a parallel brand to RAW and Smackdown of WWE. It is going on for a decade now and from the very first day of its beginning it has been massively hit. It has produced some of the biggest names of WWE and professional wrestling today including the likes of Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins.

Taya Valkyrie Reflects On NXT’s Rebranding

Previously WWE had different development territories such as the Ohio Valley Wrestling and the Florida Championship Wrestling which has also produced some of the biggest names in professional wrestling including the likes of John Cena, Randy Orton and Batista. But these brands could never be as big as NXT.

It had been one of the most popular professional wrestling show and it became more famous because of the world wide televised episodes every week, something that OVW and FCW did not have. It was mostly being managed by triple age and he was doing his job fantastically.

But one thing it was not being good at was the rating war with AEW which the brand was losing almost every week. WWE decided to rebrand NXT and give the charge of the brand to Bruce Prichard. For some reason WWE is letting all the talents go hunted by Triple H as well. Is the rebranding of NXT successful? It is too early to say right now.

Taya Valkyrie who went by the name of Franky Monet in WWE recently spoke to Insight with Chris Van Vliet where she talked about the rebranding of NXT. She said that it was one of the most confusing things of her entire life. She said;

“It was like night and day. It was a very obvious change of energy and a very obvious feeling. We were hearing all sorts of rumors about what they were looking for compared to last week. I was very confused and like, what is going on? This was in the summer, and I had debuted in like March. It was so weird. It was the most confusing experience in my entire life. Having worked everywhere, I was left like, what’s going on?”

“Definitely some of the psychology stuff. I was so fluent in Lucha Libre that it was interesting to have a better understanding of their type of psychology. Also, just taking my time and not rushing things. I feel like my selling has improved a lot to make things seem bigger. If anything, they have polished me up to make me bigger.”
