Taynara Conti is a former NXT Superstar who didn’t have any association with pro-wrestling, at all, before joining WWE. But she did end up in this industry and survived the game. Moreover, she has ended up signing with two of the most prominent leagues available in the pro-wrestling circuit. It’s really hard for someone to come from a different genre and excel in another one.
But Taynara Conti did it with great efforts where she can now call the squared circle to be her home. AEW stars Anna Jay and her former tag team partner, Conti were guests on Oral Sessions with Cassie Lee (Peyton Royce) and Jessica McKay (Billie Kay), who were filling in for the original host Renee Paquette fka Renee Young (she was in a hiatus due to giving birth to her baby daughter with her husband and AEW wrestler Jon Moxley fka Dean Ambrose).

Taynara Conti talked about growing up in sports and how she discovered her first love, judo. Being a name belonging from Brazil, she had no whatsoever experience or knowledge of what professional wrestling is,
“Wrestling is not a big thing in Brazil. I never watched it, I never knew about it before. That was not a thing at all for me. It’s hard because normally everybody asks ‘who was your favorite wrestler growing up?’ I’m like ‘ I don’t have one, because I never watched it till I came here.’ But the WWE contacted me and they asked me to do a tryout. And I said ‘no’ because I don’t know what it is.”
Taynara Conti had a learning process in WWE
Being an amateur at wrestling, Taynara Conti described her WWE tryout as a learning process. It was hard for her since she didn’t know any wrestling moves or even to speak English, properly. But she did have some tryouts involving some of the biggest female WWE stars. Bayley stood out and inspired her back then to learn things, properly. Eventually, it became a lot more fun experience for the newbie.
“I didn’t know any words. I didn’t know how to say hi back then. And I had to watch it first and then try to do it and I’m like ‘oh my god. I have no idea what I’m doing.’ I had to be copying what other people were doing because I had no clue. But that was fun. That was a great opportunity I will never forget. And I remember Bayley like, every time I was doing this, she was like ‘AHHHHH!’ Screaming in my face. She was motivating me. I was like ‘hell yeah. I like this,’” stated Taynara Conti.

During the pandemic-related budget cut in early 2020, WWE released Taynara Conti from the contract without properly utilizing her. She would eventually go on to sign a new contract with the AEW, over last year’s summer. She has since formed a close bond with Anna Jay, on and off-screen.
