Professional wrestling legend ‘The Million Dollar Man’ Ted DiBiase recently revealed who invented the famous character of the Million Dollar Man. He said it was none other than Vince McMahon who invented the character of the Million Dollar Man.
Ted DiBiase start a professional wrestling career back in 1974. However, he became famous under his Million Dollar Man gimmick in the WWE. He came out as the Million Dollar Man in WWE in 1987. It is not known by many fans that he had an unsuccessful run in WWE in 1979.
Ted DiBiase Reveals Who Invented The Million Dollar Character
He was treated as a main eventer in WWE from the very first day he joined the promotion in 1987. He had feuds with the biggest names WWE of the time such as The Immortal Hulk Hogan and Macho Man Randy Savage. He had so many title Reigns in WWE including three WWE Tag Team Championship reigns, one North American Heavyweight Championship reign, he even had an unofficial WWE World Heavyweight Championship reign.
Recently, he made his return to WWE along with his Million Dollar Championship title. As we have seen, Cameron Grimes and LA Knight fought for the title in a ladder match in the recent NXT Takeover event. His current run in WWE is being loved by the fans.
‘The Million Dollar Man’ Ted DiBiase recently spoke to Bullet Cast where he revealed who invented the famous character of the Million Dollar Man. He revealed how Vince McMahon created the epic character. He said;
“When they showed me what the dollar sign would look like, I said, ‘that’s okay.’ Initially, the one that they had, if you look at the belt, there is the great big one, and then there is a smaller one. The smaller one was going to be the [main plate]. I said, ‘That won’t work.’ They made it bigger.
“I tell everybody, Vince McMahon created this character. When I sat and talked with Vince, he said, ‘Ted, I have an idea that’s never been done in wrestling before and you’re the guy that fits the bill. You interview well and carry yourself well. Until you sign a contract with me, I can’t tell you what it is because if I tell you, I’ve given away a great idea and you can run somewhere else to do it.’”
