Tessa Blanchard was released by Impact Wrestling as the reigning World Champion, last year. That made her the hottest free agent in the entire professional wrestling industry but she didn’t make any benefit of that status. She hasn’t been signed to any other company since then. The NWA has reportedly spoken to her while AEW and WWE maintained a neutral relationship with her.

Now reports claim that she’s coming back for action. After a year and a half as a free agent, Fightful Select first reported that Tessa Blanchard is scheduled to work for a planned re-launch of the “WOW: Women of Wrestling” which was later confirmed by the promotion. She is currently the only major talent associated with the brand’s revamp.

No update was provided whether the second-generation superstar has actually signed a contract with the WOW wrestling, but she is set to be involved with the project. It was rather reported that the date and roster for WOW’s re-launch are not set yet, and “the relaunch won’t occur immediately.” But the makers of the project obviously have some plans around Tessa Blanchard.

Los Angeles Lakers owner Jeanie Buss is reportedly the owner of the WOW project as she technically owns the majority of the company. Several former WOW female talents have not heard of the re-launch, and have not been contacted to be a part of the roster.

Tessa Blanchard has an association with WOW

Nearly a dozen former WOW talents have been contacted in this matter and they didn’t have any clue about the project. They haven’t heard from WOW creator David McLane since last year when. The last time around, they were e-mailed and asked to not make any remarks in regards to controversies of bullying allegations surrounding Tessa Blanchard.

The multi-time Impact Knockouts Champion has also been the WOW World Champion from the February 15, 2019 episode until dropping the title to The Beast on the November 23, 2019, episode. WOW and AXS TV had parted ways since last summer.

A couple of months ago, Tessa Blanchard sparked some rumors after dropping a photo where she showed some association to WWE Hall of Famer Ted DiBiase’s gimmick. Some thought this was a tease about potential working with NXT. However, it was later clarified that except for NWA, no company was really interested in signing up the talented female wrestler.
