Malakai Black is a former WWE star who is currently working in AEW as an active competitor. He was signed by the promotion instantly after he got released by WWE back in 2021 and he is doing pretty good in the ring of the biggest competitors of WWE. Definitely he is one of the most talented wrestlers of the AEW roster.
He was famously known as Aleister Black in WWE and he had a pretty dark gimmick as long as he worked in the promotion. He had an excellent time while working in the NXT and he remained undefeated throughout his time in the development territory of WWE. It was pretty much certain that he had an excellent career lying ahead of himself in the main roster of WWE.

The Chosen One Chronicles: Malakai Black’s Story of Adversity and Growth in WWE NXT
But it was pretty unfortunate that he was one of the victims of the covid 19 pandemic releasing spree of WWE. He could have an excellent career in WWE if the pandemic never struck. Recently the former WWE NXT champion appeared on The Undisputed Podcast where he opened up about his struggles in the early days of the NXT;
“I remember when I was the ‘chosen one’ in ‘NXT’ and I did not have a lot of friends because they wanted to be the chosen one,” Black said. “I had a lot of people that did not like me because of it. I was just going like, ‘Sorry, guys.’ I didn’t do anything on purpose, but that was just the way the industry was at the time and what the machine picked at the time.”

Malakai Black Remembers His NXT Days
“You and I both know that it is a rotating system throughout everything,” Black added. “No one owes anyone anything, and once you’re out, the business will be fine. No one’s bigger than the business, none of us are.” Said the former WWE NXT Champion who is currently working in AEW.
“I think, for me, that’s always kept me very level-headed… I was never really someone who strayed far from the path of this stuff because at the end of the day, this all will end… So I’d rather be remembered as a guy that was down to earth, for the most part, than someone who was inauthentic.”

Upon joining AEW, he kept on playing a very similar character that he used to play in WWE. He is currently holding the AEW Trios Championship along with his House of Black teammates and he is doing a pretty good job. We hope to see the Dutch professional wrestler having an excellent career in the world of professional wrestling.
