Last week on Monday Night RAW, former two times WWE World Champion The Miz issued an open challenge to anyone in the locker room. The open challenge was answered by his old friend Tommaso Ciampa and the Showstopper looked happy to see his old friend back.
But to surprise him, Ciampa attacked him and beat him down. They also a had a match where Ciampa defeated him. This was Ciampa’s return to WWE after nine long months and he returned as a babyface. This week on RAW, Ciampa clarified that he was not contacted by his friend even once during this long spell of absence.
The Miz’s Battle For Respect: Friend-Turned-Foe Attacks On RAW And His Response
The duo was scheduled to have a match this week on RAW but the A-Lister attacked Ciampa during his entrance and beat him down. The match could not take place. Miz appeared on RAW Talk where he expressed his frustration on not getting the respect he deserved. Here is what the former champion he had to say;
“Ciampa confronted me? He sucker-punched me. I had my arms wide open. My good buddy, my good friend Tommaso Ciampa is back in WWE. Give me a hug, buddy. He sucker-punches me.

“That’s the thanks I get for everything I’ve done for him? For all the opportunities I’ve given him? He’s mad that I didn’t call him? ‘Oh, he didn’t call me. He didn’t text me.’ Boo freaking hoo.
“I don’t call anybody. You call me. We were just in Cleveland, my hometown. You think I called any of my friends that I went to high school, my long-time friends? No. I don’t call them. They call me. They want to hang out with me. I’m the superstar. Do we understand that?
“Put some respect on my name. I am tired of the lack of respect that I get. I’m the two-time Grand Slam Champion. What’s he done? Granted, he is an immense talent. There is no denying the talent that he has. But he has not done it here in WWE. I’m the veteran. Anything else? No. Because you don’t matter. I matter.”
The feud is not very well received by the fans and the critics. Most of the fans are not interested in watching such a feud being dragged. We have heard that the ultimate plan for the Ciampa is to get reunited with Johnny Gargano but he is not coming back before Money in the Bank. Maybe they are just filling the time.
