WWE Smackdown star AJ Styles who is a former two times WWE World Champion is currently involved in the World Heavyweight Championship picture which is the newest title of the promotion. Styles earned the right to Seth Rollins at Night of Champions for the title.
AJ Styles was treated as a main event as long as he was on Smackdown previously as he won the WWE World Championship two times in total. But after he transitioned to Monday Night RAW, he lost his main event push. He even had to job to certain wrestlers in his RAW run and he could never win any World title in the red brand of WWE.

Recently, WWE organized WWE Draft 2023 where AJ Styles got drafted to Friday Night Smackdown along with his faction The OC. Since the very first day of returning to Smacjdown, he had been treated as a main event star once again. He recorded some big victories lately since joining the blue brand.
Last week, he featured on the World Heavyweight Championship tournament where he recorded two big victories. On his first match he pinned WWE Hall of Famer Edge and on the main event Styles defeated Bobby Lashley. Both of these victories were clean and they were huge wins.

AJ Styles Would Challenge Seth Rollins For The World Heavyweight Title At Night Of Champions
He has earned the right to face Seth Rollins for the World Heavyweight Championship at Night of Champions. At the Night of Champions PLE, WWE will crown the inaugural WWE World Heavyweight Champion and AJ Styles is a part of it. During his latest interview with “Inside The Ropes” where he discussed his return to the main event;
“I feel the same as you. It’s about time I’m back in the heavyweight title picture. Unfortunately, I’m up against Seth Rollins, who’s probably one of the best. I said it a long ago that he’s gonna be great, and nothing has changed. He’s still one of the best, no doubt about it, so we’ll see what happens.”

“Oh, you’re gonna be in two matches your first time back in the ring with WWE. Oh, that’s great, because that’s where I wanted to be. Who knows where my cardio is at this point? It’s a bit worrisome, but I made it through, and now for my first biggest match in the WWE since I returned, it’s gonna be against Seth Rollins in Jeddah. So yeah, no pressure.”
