Professional wrestling legend and WWE Hall of Famer Mick Foley who is also a three time WWE World champion recently said that he was baffled by the latest WWE releases. Just like the rest of the Year once again a lot of people got jobless once again. Once again WWE released a mass of superstars.
It was quite shocking that WWE kept on releasing wrestlers after wrestlers. Throughout the year WWE released a lot of big names including the likes of Braun Strowman and Aleister Black. This time WWE did not hesitate to shock the entire world once again. This time they released a total of 18 wrestler from both the main roster and NXT.
The Recent WWE Releases Were Baffling For Mick Foley
Here is the list of eighteen wrestler that got released from WWE recently, Nia Jax, Karrion Kross, Scarlett Boudreaux, “B-Fab” Briana Brandy, Gran Metalik, Lince Dorado, Eva Marie, Keith Lee, Mia Yim, Harry Smith, Oney Lorcan, Franky Monet, Ember Moon, Trey Baxter, Jessi Kamea, Jeet Rama, Zayda Ramier, and Katrina Cortez.
Some of the releases were is a little bit anticipated but some of the names were quite shocking, such as Keith Lee, B-Fab, Karrion Kross and Nia Jax. Keith Lee and Karrion Kross were looking like two of the hottest prospects of the WWE. Nobody saw this coming. Franky Monet aka Taya Valkyrie was recently brought in on NXT who was literally squashing jobbers.
It was looking like she was bound for something big, but she was shockingly released. Eva Marie was brought back recently as well. Ember Moon, Mia Yim, they were some of the biggest prospects of WWE, it was quite shocking to see them getting released.
Mick Foley who is also a three time WWE World champion recently wrote on his Facebook page where he said that he was baffled by the latest WWE releases. He said;
“It’s never pleasant to hear that people have been released from their contracts in WWE, but some of yesterday’s releases are downright baffling. I believe there is a silver lining in that there has never been a better time to be a wrestler, with so many different opportunities out there. In the case of Karrion Kross, it does not take a genius to see that he will be reunited with Scarlett and instantly become one of the hottest duos in the business.
“Ultimately, WWE is supposed to make the people they hire more interesting, not less. But does anyone think Keith “Bearcat” Lee was more interesting than the Keith Lee we saw in NXT, or on the independent scene? For that matter, I thought Mia Yim was a better developed and more effective character as Jade in TNA than she was in NXT or WWE. Who exactly looked at Taya Valkyrie and thought she needed a name change or a dramatic shift in character either?
“Anyways, I’m really wishing the very best for everyone who suddenly – and in many cases, surprisingly – found themselves out of work yesterday. Some things just don’t make sense.”
