In the recent years, The Shield that comprised of the current WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins along with Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose has been one of the most powerful unit in WWE. Having spent most of their time in WWE’s developmental section, which is now called as The NXT, Shield made their WWE debut when they interfered and destroyed Ryback during his WWE World Championship match against CM Punk and John Cena in the 2012 Survivor series at Indianapolis.
After enjoying success in the main rooster for a year and a half, The Shield was disbanded when Seth Rollins turned his back on the other two and joined their rivals The Authority which was headed by the COO of WWE Triple H and had the likes of Randy Orton and Corporate Kane. Since then, all the three had individual success and has been involved in some brutal matches.
In a major twist of events, the WWE is discussing about reuniting the Hounds of Justice and that could happen at the 2015 SummerSlam that takes place at the Barclays Center, Brooklyn, New York on August 23. Most reliable Wrestling Journalist Dave Meltzer has reported that the three mem will be back as baby faces at the PPV. The Wrestling Observer Newsletter has also reported the same. If this happens, this will bring back the lost ratings for WWE as the fans really love the trio being together.
The entire WWE universe went mad for a while at the 2014 Pay-Back pay-per-view when the former-Shield members triple-powerbombed Randy Orton onto the announcers table. The chances of this depends on the outcome of the WWE World Heavyweight Championship match between Seth Rollins and Brock Lesner at the WWE BattleGround PPV later tonight, where there are chances of the Authority turning its back on Seth Rollins and chose the 2015 Money in the Bank winner Shaemus (cashing his MITB contract on Seth) as their new favourite.
