The Undertaker doesn’t stand as a mythical on-screen character in WWE, anymore. He’s broken that long kayfabe gimmick since after announcing retirement. To the world, he now stands as Mark Callaway who is the father of a baby girl with her wife Michelle McCool who also used to be a WWE Superstar.

Now the former WWE Divas roster member had previously admitted that the relationship with The Undertaker had cost her big-time on a career perspective as she was forced to leave the WWE, just a year after their marriage. The fact that she’s mostly been recognized as ‘Taker’s wife is also something that she can’t stand. She’s a female wrestler and that should be her prime identity.

The Undertaker has now defended Michelle McCool over how she fought for the women in WWE. The legendary wrestler also mentioned that she’s probably one of the most under-recognized WWE Superstars for the efforts she had made to get the female Superstars where they stand, today.

The Undertaker appeared in a conversation with Joey Hayden of The Dallas Morning News who was also asked about Michelle McCool not receiving the respect that she deserves from the WWE Universe. The interview occurred when he attended the NFL game between the Dallas Cowboys and the Denver Broncos on November 7 to honor members of the United States Military.

The Undertaker spoke about Michelle McCool

The Phenome then went into detail about how McCool fought for the women in WWE when she was there. Also, The Undertaker added that she never asked him to go to WWE Chairman and CEO Vince McMahon for assistance or some kind of favors.

“You know what, I can get on a rant there. I think she’s probably one of the most under-recognized WWE superstars for what she did while she was there and the groundwork she fought for, right, to where the women are now,” The Undertaker continued.

“The women are pretty much on the same level now as the men, they’ve headlined WrestleMania. She was one, when she was active with the WWE, was never satisfied with the role that the women were given. She fought. She went back and forth. And to her credit, never asked me once, never asked me once will you go talk to Vince [McMahon] or will you do this. She always wanted to do it herself.”

The Undertaker and Michelle McCool got married in a private ceremony in 2010 which marked the downfall of the latter’s career. McCool later returned to WWE programming for one-off occasions like the Women’s Royal Rumble or Battle Royal matches but she’s never been booked in singles contests.
