Ever since Triple H became the Head of Creative of WWE, he brought a lot of big names in the promotion. Before Triple H, one of the biggest recruitment of Vince McMahon from AEW was Cody Rhodes who became main eventer following his return to WWE in 2022.
But Cody Rhodes was not the only wrestler that WWE tried to bring from AEW. Recently, the AEW World Champion Maxwell Jacob Friedman MJF revealed that he was one of the AEW stars whom Triple H and WWE CEO Nick Khan wanted to sign for WWE.

MJF recently wrestled Sammy Guevara, Darby Allin, and Jack Perry in a four way at AEW Double or Nothing PPV event where he successfully defended his title. Following his big title defense at the mentioned event, the AEW World Championsaid;
“I am already there. I am dead serious,” MJF responded, suggesting that he wasn’t in character. “If I literally retire today, this is not hyperbole, I’ve had one of the best professional wrestling runs in the history of the business. That’s a fact.”
MJF Was Wanted By Triple H And Nick Khan In WWE
“Cody Rhodes, Wardlow, CM Punk, [Bryan] Danielson, and that’s just to name a few,” MJF said of his rivalries in AEW. “I’m pretty sure if I called it quits, I’ve had a Hall of Fame career, which is why, quite frankly, when I say ‘take my ball and go home,’ everybody thinks I’m talking about WWE, right? Does Nick Khan want me to f—ing work in his company? Sure. Does Triple H want me to work in his company? Sure.”
“When I say ‘take my ball and go home,’ I literally mean, just hang it up, and f–k up the lineage of this title,” MJF continued. “Frankly, I don’t think anybody is worthy of being me for this thing.”
MJF is only 27 year old and he is pretty much one of the best stars in the world of professional wrestling today. He definitely has a huge career lying ahead of himself and maybe one day he joins WWE and becomes one of the biggest stars of the biggest promotion ever.
