Top WWE NXT Superstar Kyle O’Reilly who has now become a free agent, could be heading into All Elite Wrestling. Back on December 8, Kyle took to Twitter to send a message to fans following what appeared to be an emotional farewell after the post-WarGames edition of WWE NXT 2.0.

Then on last night’s AEW Dynamite, Adam Cole teased the AEW debut of Kyle during a backstage segment with The Young Bucks and Bobby Fish.

“On the Christmas edition of AEW Dynamite next week, it’s going to be the best Christmas present that you guys could ever ask for,” Cole said. “Trust me, you guys are going to love this!”

Cole’s promo led to fan speculation on social media that he was possibly referring to his former Undisputed Era stablemate from WWE NXT. Kyle responded to Cole’s promo by tweeting a GIF of Brad Pitt asking “What’s in the box” from the movie Seven. It was a reference to Dynamite where Cole was holding a box while informing his friends that they will get to unwrap a special Christmas present on next week’s episode.

Kyle O’Reilly and Johnny Gargano recently left WWE NXT

Earlier this week, Adam Cole did deny to comment on the future of his former WWE NXT stablemate during an event, “This is the honest to god truth, I have no idea what Kyle is going to do. I really don’t. I’m not sure he even knows what he’s going to do. But the idea of getting to reunite with Kyle as well as Bobby (Fish), hell yeah I would love that. Hell yeah I would, absolutely.”

As per the earlier reports, Kyle O’Reilly and Johnny Gargano became free agents last Friday after they opted not to re-sign with WWE and let their deals expire with the company. Neither of them is going to have a no-compete clause attached during their WWE NXT departure.

O’Reilly signed with WWE in July 2017. He left the WWE NXT brand as a three-time NXT Tag Team Champion, and the winner of the 2018 Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic, with Cole. He lost to Von Wagner in a Steel Cage match on last week’s episode of NXT 2.0. He was also in action at WarGames as he and Wagner came up short against the Imperium for the NXT tag team titles.
