Trish Stratus is helmed as one of the most gorgeous divas (if not the most) of WWE’s Attitude Era and Ruthless Aggression Era. Even at the age of 46, she can raise the temperature just like that. In recent times, she posted a photo in black lingerie while plugging in the exceptional hot temperature of her hometown, Toronto. But beyond the hotness vibes, she’s a female pro-wrestler who paved the way for the modern generation.

In recent times, it’s pretty usual to see the women superstars in main event matches in different capacities. But that wasn’t obviously the case from the beginning. The likes of Trish Stratus had to fight hard to even get screen space in this male-dominated industry.

For a long time, female superstars in WWE were not given much TV time. They were often portrayed as sexual objects rather than getting the opportunity of showcasing their wrestling skills. While speaking on Busted Open Radio, Trish Stratus revisited those days and picked one particular moment that she believes was the turning point for women in WWE.

“Someone talked about the chair shot that Victoria and I did and it was like the chair shot like one simple chair shot and there were meetings about it, there were people discussing,” WWE Hall of Famer and seven-time WWE Women’s Champion said. “I feel like that was the deal, we were kind of turning the corner.” (quotes courtesy Wrestling INC)

Trish Stratus was referring to the match where 2018 WWE Hall of Famer Victoria hit her head with a chair shot during a match in 2002. Victoria won the WWE Women’s Championship twice during her tenure with the WWE. Victoria later joined TNA by the name of Tara where she ended up winning the Knockout’s Tag Team Championship once and the Knockout’s Women’s Championship on five different occasions to solidify her legacy as a female wrestler.

During Victoria’s absence from WWE, it was Trish Stratus and Lita who revolutionized the women’s roster. The first time, women were in the main event of Monday Night Raw was in 2000 when Lita defeated Stephanie McMahon for the Women’s Championship. Then in December 2004, Stratus took on Lita, where Lita won the Women’s Championship for the second time in another milestone main event match featuring two women.
