WWE organized a PLE for NXT this Sunday where six action packed matches were booked including the NXT Women’s Championship match where Tiffany Stratton met Lyra Valkyria. It was the final match of the tournament with the vacant NXT Women’s Championship being the ultimate price.
The previous NXT Women’s Champion Indi Hartwell had to vacate the title due to an injury. The Aussie professional wrestler was also got drafted to Monday Night RAW and she would have to vacate the title anyway. WWE organized an eight woman tournament to crown the Champion.

Tiffany Stratton, the winner of the tournament and the new NXT Women’s Champion spoke to PopCulture before the event where she spoke on her focus to win the match and the prestigious NXT Women’s title. Here is what the 24 year old professional wrestler had to say;
“I feel great. I feel like I am ready,” Stratton exclusively told PopCulture. “I’m one that rises to the occasion, and I’m ready to show everyone who Tiffany Stratton is.” While Stratton has competed in one of the biggest matches in her young career, the 24-year-old has been in the championship mix before.

The current NXT Women’s Champion continued, “In April at NXT’s Spring Breakin event, Stratton took on Indi Hartwell and Roxanne Perez in a triple threat match for the NXT Women’s title. She lost the match, but it helped her get to where she is now.
“That Triple Threat Match, I feel like really gave me some really good experience that I can take into all of the title matches I’m going to have,” Stratton said. “I learned a lot from competing against Indi and Roxanne, and I’m going to take everything that I learned and use it to my advantage this Sunday.”

So what kind of history she created at NXT Battleground? This Sunday, Tiffany Stratton became the 100th woman in WWE history win a title in the promotion. This is actually pretty historic. Her name will now be taken with the likes of The Fabulous Moolah, Alundra Blayze, Chyna, Trish Stratus, Lita, Becky Lynch, Charlotte Flair and others.
