The United States Championship scenario has always been entertaining on the Smackdown Live, for the past couple of months. Bobby Roode had quite an entertaining run with it at the beginning of the year, until Randy Orton won it at the Fastlane PPV – to become the latest Grand Slam winner in the company.
Now, this meant that Roode already had a rematch clause for the US title which he invoked at the biggest stage of them all.
Also, Jinder Mahal had separate wins against these two superstars on the back-to-back basis that gave him the right to get a title match making it a triple threat affair.

Meanwhile, Mahal received Rusev as his tag team partner in a match on Smackdown, last week.
Capitalizing on this opportunity Rusev was able to pin the United States Champion that handed him an opportunity to the title, as well. This finally set up a fatal-4-way match at Wrestlemania.

Furthermore, it creates a rift between the two good friends, Mahal and Rusev which is why we received a matchup, last night between these two.
As soon as, Aiden English showed up on Smackdown to introduce his partner, the crowd broke out into loud Rusev Day chants.
Meanwhile, Bobby Roode walked out to the arena with his Glorious music to join the commentary table for this contest. Rusev tried to take an early upper hand by locking in the Accolade on his former friend as Jinder decided to bail out. Later, he went for a snapmare on Rusev.

The crowd cheered Rusev to a great extent as he started to fight back. He went for another Accolade but Jinder Mahal grabbed the ropes to break it.
Later, the duo started to trade punches as Rusev hit the Machka Kick, out of nowhere to pick up the quick win. After the match, Rusev and Aiden English celebrated in the ring.
Will @RandyOrton or @REALBobbyRoode be walking out with the #USTitle in hand at #WrestleMania?

Randy Orton hit the ring and hit an RKO out of nowhere on Rusev. Aiden English started attacking the Viper from behind.
Later, he went for a top rope jump when Bobby Roode interfered. He pushed English into Orton who connected with another RKO on him.
Then, Roode picked up the United States Championship and handed it to Orton. He let it go while giving away posing for the upcoming title match as the segment came to an end.
