Dominik Mysterio is currently one of the biggest future projects of WWE who surely has a great future lying ahead of himself. It had been confirmed by various media sources that WWE officials have really big plans for the younger half of Rey Mysterio and he could even be pushed as a top star in the future.
Dominik started his WWE career alongside his father as his Tag Team partner. They even won the WWE Smackdown Tag Team Championship in 2021 turning out to be the first ever father – son Tag Team Champions in WWE history. Everything was going so perfectly for Dominik.
Why Dominik Mysterio Did Not Work In NXT
Last year, at Clash at the Castle PLE of WWE, Dominik shocked the entire world when he betrayed his own father by turning heel. On the very next night he joined the villainous faction The Judgment Day and slowly he went on to become the most hated wrestler in WWE today. He is even being considered as the best heel in wrestling right now.
Dominik Mysterio started his wrestling career in 2019 and he started working in the main roster directly. In spite of being a young talent, he did not have to work in the NXT which is almost necessary for all the youngsters in WWE. Recently, Dominik Mysterio revealed that he was originally scheduled to work in the NXT. Speaking on the “Inside The Ropes” podcast where he said;
On how the original plan was for him to start in NXT: “I was supposed to go down to NXT and do the whole developmental thing, and how the process is actually supposed to go, but it just never happened. And I never asked or complained.” Said the former WWE Smackdown Tag Team Champion.
On finding out he’d be doing a program with Seth Rollins: “My dad and I — we had sat down and figured out how we were going to do it. [The] debut was going to be somewhere else. I was going to go independent for a little while and kind of try to get my training wheels going and get my feet wet … but when I was offered this opportunity against Seth, I knew that if I turned it down, there wasn’t going to be another opportunity like this.”
At this moment, Dominik is involved in a feud with The American Nightmare Cody Rhodes and he is doing pretty good. At Money in the Bank, he is scheduled to meet Cody which would be a big opportunity for him to shine further. We hope Dominik improves more in the future and becomes a top star of the promotion in future.
