The Fourteen-Time WWE World Heavyweight Champion Randy Orton has been kept off WWE TV for over a month now. During this absence, Riddle has played the role of making his presence felt on Monday Night Raw, ever since. Meanwhile, he’s reportedly been on the disabled/inactive list while away from WWE RAW TV.

Randy Orton made one last appearance on Raw during the June 21 episode, when he lost a singles match to John Morrison and thereby lost a chance to qualify for Money in the Bank. He was then scheduled to compete in a Second Chance Money In the Bank Qualifying match against AJ Styles and Drew McIntyre.

Update On Randy Orton’s Absence From WWE TV; Potential Return Date 1

But, it was announced the following week, by WWE Officials Adam Pearce and Sonya Deville, that The Viper was unable to compete in the Second Chance Money In the Bank Qualifier due to “circumstances out of their control,” but no reason was given.

Randy Orton should be back for Summerslam 2021

We have now received an update to the situation as it was noted by Fightful that Randy Orton has been on WWE’s internal disabled/inactive list while he has been away. There is no word yet on why WWE has put such a top-caliber guy like Orton on the disabled/inactive list, but no issues were reported between him and the company.

WWE had creative plans in place for Randy Orton and Riddle, apparently for a match for SummerSlam, but unknown circumstances ruled those plans out. Now Riddle is apparently heading into another creative direction. There is also no word on what WWE had planned for the R-K-Bro tag team, but Riddle continues to mention his former tag team partner on WWE TV, and on social media. A title match against RAW Tag Team Champions AJ Styles and Omos was also rumored at one point but that didn’t happen.

Update On Randy Orton’s Absence From WWE TV; Potential Return Date 2

It was also noted that the hope is that Randy Orton will be back in time for the August 2 RAW episode scheduled from the Allstate Arena in Rosemont, Chicago, Illinois. This should make the veteran superstar available for the biggest event of the summer, set for August 21 although nothing is confirmed. Orton has not made any tweets in this absence, but he has been active on Twitter as he had liked several tweets posted by others.
