CM Punk broke the internet last night as he decided to show up on the FOX studio show named WWE Backstage. He appeared at the end of episode number two, in the closing segment to offer the following, “It’s as simple as this. Just when they think they got the answers, I change the culture. I’ll see you here next week.” This sent the pro-wrestling fans to a frenzy.
Backstage reports are now available regarding the much-anticipated return that happened on FOX. CM Punk was apparently locked in to make an appearance as per the agreement reaches within the past few days.

But no words were leaked just to prevent any sort of spoilers. Only the host of WWE Backstage Renee Young had the knowledge that the former WWE Champion would be showing up, (courtesy wrestlingINC.com)
“Punk’s surprise appearance was kept a secret to the other on-air talents, except for Renee Young, who introduced Punk, in order to prevent leaks. As we previously reported, Punk’s deal is with FOX only, and not WWE. The decision to sign Punk was a FOX call, but WWE obviously gave their blessing. PWInsider added that while Punk and FOX have been in talks, the deal was only finalized in the last.”
It is to be noted that the deal has been made between CM Punk and FOX. WWE is not involved here, anyway. He will appear as a Special Contributor and Analyst starting from next week.
There will be “select appearances” from him in the studio show alongside host Renee Young and analyst WWE Hall of Famer Booker T. There’s no doubt that FOX will be gaining more viewership by pulling off this move.
The premiere episode of WWE Backstage had merely 50K viewers those were not a good number, at all. So bringing CM Punk was the best move they can possibly expect to increase the audience numbers.
Also, with that update, some of the WWE superstars are already looking forward to featuring in a match against him. Bray Wyatt and Seth Rollins called him out on social media for a future match. We have to wait a bit more to see whether WWE decides to arrange these dream matches in the future.
