As we all remember, former Two Times WWE Women’s Champion Victoria appeared on the Royal Rumble match this year. She entered as entry no. 10 and she survived for around seven minutes in the Rumble match. She was eliminated by one-half of the current WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion Shayna Baszler.
This was the first WWE appearance of Victoria in twelve long years. She did not appear on WWE since she was released back in 2009 after WrestleMania 25. At the age of 50, her performance was pretty promising in the Rumble match and it looked like she is pretty much ready for another run in the WWE.
Victoria ‘Didn’t Answer’ When She Got WWE’s Call For Royal Rumble 2021
Victoria recently spoke to the Talkin Sass podcast where she talked about a lot of things including her Royal Rumble appearance this year. She revealed that she got the call from WWE just two weeks before the event;
They called me two weeks prior to the [Royal] Rumble and I’ll be honest with you, I saw the 203-area code, I didn’t answer. I was like, ‘Oh my God, oh my God. What’s going –’ when we used to get the 203-area code calling you, we’re either fired, in trouble or, ‘Hey, we need you to fly out.’ Something like that, and so my stomach starting tingling and I’m like, ‘Oh my gosh’ and I picked up the message and I’m like, ‘They want me at the Rumble!’
And you know, I haven’t been to the gym, I don’t get my nails done, the BOTOX, I don’t have hair extensions anymore. I’m not that Victoria-esque with people remember me being super jacked and I’m kind of a normal looking gal and I’m like, ‘Oh, it might be so disappointing if I come back now’ and I did reach out to SoCal Val and Mickie [James] and they’re like, ‘You better do it.
Fans are waiting for you to come back’ and I go, ‘I don’t think I’m ready. These girls, the athleticism now and how fast they work and the spots they do, am I gonna be able to keep up?’ Like the insecurities came back.
Fans were pretty much thrilled to see the former two times WWE Women’s Champion back in action for WWE. And almost everyone would have her back. She even said that in her interview that Mickie James and SoCal Val also think fans want her back in WWE. We hope to see Victoria getting a contract WWE again.
